NFL Combine - Who needs help?

With the NFL Draft around the corner there's one aspect that is thought to be the premier test of physical ability.

The NFL Scouting Combine.

There are a few players that started the season high and have fallen. There are others, though, that in through gameplay success have improved their stock tremendously.

Here are a few guys that I'm interested to see in this year's Combine:

Kenny Phillips: S, Miami (Fl.)

Here's a guy who was a top tier player coming out of high school. He's always been told that he's "the best" guy out there and lived up to that hype as a Freshman and Sophomore at the U. At 6'2" and 210 pounds he's got a good size advantage going for him. He's been clocked with a 4.45 40m time, we expect good things from him. With a sub-par (by his standards) Junior campaign, an outstanding combine performance good mean the difference between him being a late 1st round pick and a possible Top 15 draft pick.

Andre' Woodson: QB, Kentucky

After a win against then (and still) #1 LSU he was hyped as the best QB coming out this year. He had his fair share of Heisman talk too, until his team failed to live up to their Top 10 ranking. After losing to Georgia the questions started to arise. Is his delivery too slow to be a real NFL threat? Is his arm good enough for him to be a perennial starter at the next level? To be quite honest, I don't know. That's why with some good numbers at this Sunday's combine, he could boost his stock to possibly the late 1st round.

Rashard Mendenhall: HB, Illinois

When this kid broke it loose past an NFL-bound USC secondary the scouts took notice. Is this guy's speed for real? Can he do that in the NFL? Once again, I don't know. But if his upper body strength is as super as it appears, then Mendenhal could move from the 3rd or 4th back taken up to possibly 2nd behind only Adrian Peterson Jr. Darren McFadden.

There are others that will be interesting, but these three guys are at the top of my watch list. Check it out on NFL Network all throughout this coming week. If not, check back here. I'll be giving summaries of every day's action.
